Our Story

our origin story

henry & aster began with a fascination for how children learn to see the world. as a father, I watched my own kids break everything down into shapes—circles became globes, squares became houses, and lines became paths to adventure. i wanted the art on their walls to reflect that pure, analytical wonder. henry & aster is a celebration of that early artistic discovery.

how we create

our prints are unearthed from historical archives, focusing on the brilliant instructional drawing manuals of the early 20th century—including the legendary guides of E.G. Lutz. we meticulously restore these historic line drawings, pairing the clean, minimalist ink work with a refined, contemporary palette and a subtle linen-textured backdrop. the result is a seamless blend of classic English study and contemporary visual storytelling.

we design and create items in our collections to work as individual pieces or sets to make curation effortless for parents. printed in the USA on cotton canvas and wood framing, these archival illustrations bridge the gap between playful imagination and sophisticated design, ensuring they remain a cherished part of your home as your child grows from nursery to studio space.
